Marriott Hartford Downtown Appoints Joshua Bettis As Executive Chef

HARTFORD, CT–Marriott Hartford Downtown has announced the appointment of Joshua Bettis as Executive Chef. The 409-room full-service hotel is managed by Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel and convention center management firm.

In his new role as Executive Chef, Bettis is responsible for all of the hotel’s full-service culinary operations including Vivo Seasonal Trattoria, L Bar, Starbucks, and events. Bettis brings to Hartford his knowledge and creativity from more than 20 years of award-winning culinary experience in locations throughout the United States and Ireland. Past positions include Executive Sous Chef at the Montelucia Resort and Spa in Paradise Valley, AZ; Executive Chef at The Brown Hotel in Louisville, KY; and, Executive Chef and Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort and Spa in Tabernash, CO. Most recently, Bettis was the Executive Chef at the Mayflower Inn and Spa in Washington, CT.

Chef Bettis is enthused to work with the local suppliers, from locally caught shellfish and fish to the seasonal fresh produce sourced from Connecticut farms, to enhance the Marriott Hartford Downtown menus and vision while creating memorable dining experiences for hotel and event guests.
