ALBANY, NY—Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the opening of its newest hotel and the first of its kind in the country, the dual-branded Homewood Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton Albany Crossgates Mall. Located steps from Crossgates Mall, the property is a unique new addition to the Capital Region’s lodging offerings. The hotel expands Hilton’s growing footprint of multi-brand properties in the state.
“We’re delighted to open Homewood Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton Albany Crossgates Mall and offer business and leisure travelers visiting Albany with an innovative and value-driven lodging experience,” said Adam Gollub, General Manager, Aimbridge Hospitality. “Blending these two category-leading brands and their signature, yet unique, identities under one roof further propels our commitment to providing quality lodging options to meet a wide variety of styles, travel needs and desired price points.”
“We are incredibly excited to partner with Hilton on the opening of the very first dual-branded Tru and Homewood Suites property in the country, our second Hilton hotel across our portfolio of shopping, dining, and entertainment complexes throughout the northeast,” said Stephen J. Congel, Chief Executive Officer, Pyramid Management Group, LLC. “The addition of this dynamic hotel at Crossgates represents the next step in the continued evolution of the Crossgates Complex through mixed-use development. It furthermore solidifies its reputation as a premier shopping, dining and entertainment destination and gives guests another reason to extend their stay in Guilderland and Albany County.”
The multi-brand concept provides larger, enhanced communal areas and amenities than the standard offering at a standalone property, benefiting both business and leisure travelers. The hotel has a mix of unique offerings – each catering to the needs of their respective guests – including designated lobby and dining areas. The property also has a variety of shared amenities including 24-hour fitness center, indoor pool, outdoor grills, sport courts and airport shuttle. Additionally, the hotel offers 682 square feet of flexible meeting space.
The 5-story property developed and owned by Pyramid Management Group, who was recognized by Hilton as the 2017 Developer of the Year, and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, is located at 1651 Western Ave and boasts 192 rooms, with 96 Tru rooms and 96 Homewood suites. Conveniently situated in Guilderland, the hotel offers guests easy access to Crossgates Mall, NYS Capitol, Empire State Plaza, Times Union Center, and Saratoga Race Track.
